Ingredients
- 12 oz spaghetti or lo mein noodles
- 3 tbsp unsalted butter
- 8 cloves garlic, minced
- 3 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp oyster sauce
- 1 tsp fish sauce
- 1 tbsp brown sugar
- 1/2 tsp white pepper
- 2 tbsp reserved pasta water
- 2 green onions, thinly sliced
- 1 tsp toasted sesame oil
- 1 tbsp toasted sesame seeds
Instructions
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook the noodles according to package directions until al dente. Reserve 1/2 cup pasta water, then drain.
- While noodles cook, whisk together soy sauce, oyster sauce, fish sauce, brown sugar, and white pepper in a small bowl.
- Melt the butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and cook, stirring constantly, for 1-2 minutes until fragrant and just starting to turn golden — do not let it burn.
- Pour in the sauce mixture and let it bubble for 30 seconds.
- Add the drained noodles to the skillet along with 2 tablespoons of reserved pasta water. Toss with tongs until every strand is coated and glossy, about 1-2 minutes.
- Drizzle with sesame oil and toss again.
- Plate immediately, topping with sliced green onions and toasted sesame seeds.
