Iced Matcha Latte

A vibrant, café-style iced matcha latte made by whisking ceremonial-grade matcha into a smooth paste, then pouring it over ice with cold milk. Earthy, slightly sweet, and beautifully layered green over white.

  1. Sift the matcha powder into a small bowl to remove clumps.
  2. Add the hot water and whisk briskly in a zigzag motion with a bamboo whisk or small whisk until frothy and no dry clumps remain.
  3. Fill a tall glass with ice cubes.
  4. Stir the simple syrup into the cold milk, then pour the milk over the ice.
  5. Slowly pour the whisked matcha over the back of a spoon on top of the milk to create a layered effect.
  6. Stir before drinking to combine, or enjoy the layered look first.
