Hot Chocolate
Rich, velvety hot chocolate made from real melted dark chocolate and cocoa powder simmered with whole milk. Deeply chocolatey and thicker than the powdered-mix version, this is a decadent classic winter warmer.

Ingredients
- 2 cups whole milk
- 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
- 2 ounces dark chocolate, finely chopped
- 2 tablespoons granulated sugar, to taste
- 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
- to taste Pinch of salt
- to taste Whipped cream, for topping (optional)
- to taste Mini marshmallows or shaved chocolate, for topping (optional)
Instructions
- In a saucepan, whisk the cocoa powder with a few tablespoons of the milk to form a smooth paste, removing any lumps.
- Add the remaining milk, sugar, and salt, whisking to combine.
- Warm over medium-low heat, whisking frequently, until steaming.
- Add the chopped dark chocolate and continue whisking until fully melted and the mixture is smooth and glossy, about 3-4 minutes.
- Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract.
- Pour into mugs and top with whipped cream, marshmallows, or shaved chocolate as desired.
