Golden Milk
A warm, golden-hued turmeric milk inspired by Ayurvedic tradition, gently spiced with ginger, cinnamon, and a pinch of black pepper to activate the turmeric. Soothing, aromatic, and lightly sweetened with honey.

Ingredients
- 2 cups whole milk or full-fat coconut milk
- 1 1/2 teaspoons ground turmeric (or 1-inch fresh turmeric, grated)
- 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger (or 1 teaspoon fresh grated ginger)
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 pinch ground black pepper
- 1-2 tablespoons honey or maple syrup, to taste
- 1/2 teaspoon coconut oil (optional)
Instructions
- In a small saucepan, whisk together the milk, turmeric, ginger, cinnamon, and black pepper until no clumps remain.
- Warm over medium-low heat, whisking frequently, for 6-8 minutes until steaming but not boiling.
- Stir in the coconut oil if using, letting it melt into the milk.
- Remove from heat and stir in honey to taste.
- Strain through a fine sieve if using fresh turmeric or ginger, then pour into two mugs and serve warm.
