  1. In a small saucepan, whisk together the milk, turmeric, ginger, cinnamon, and black pepper until no clumps remain.
  2. Warm over medium-low heat, whisking frequently, for 6-8 minutes until steaming but not boiling.
  3. Stir in the coconut oil if using, letting it melt into the milk.
  4. Remove from heat and stir in honey to taste.
  5. Strain through a fine sieve if using fresh turmeric or ginger, then pour into two mugs and serve warm.
