Cold Brew Coffee
Smooth, low-acid cold brew coffee made by steeping coarsely ground coffee in cold water for 12-18 hours. The result is a rich, naturally sweet concentrate perfect for pouring over ice with milk or enjoying black.

Ingredients
- 1 cup coarsely ground coffee (medium-dark roast recommended)
- 4 cups cold filtered water
- to taste Ice, for serving
- to taste Milk, cream, or milk alternative, to taste
- to taste Simple syrup or sweetener, to taste (optional)
Instructions
- Combine the coarsely ground coffee and cold water in a large jar or pitcher; stir gently to make sure all the grounds are saturated.
- Cover and steep at room temperature or in the fridge for 12-18 hours (18 hours yields a stronger, smoother concentrate).
- Strain the mixture through a fine-mesh sieve lined with a coffee filter or cheesecloth into a clean pitcher, pressing gently to extract all the liquid.
- Discard the spent grounds; you now have cold brew concentrate.
- To serve, fill a glass with ice and pour in the concentrate diluted with equal parts water or milk, adjusting strength to taste.
- Sweeten if desired and stir well before drinking.
