Chai Latte
A cozy, aromatic spiced tea latte simmered with black tea, cinnamon, cardamom, cloves, and ginger, then finished with steamed milk. Warm, creamy, and fragrant — a homemade version of the classic coffeehouse favorite.

Ingredients
- 2 cups water
- 2 black tea bags (or 2 teaspoons loose black tea)
- 4 whole green cardamom pods, lightly crushed
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 4 whole cloves
- to taste 1/2-inch piece fresh ginger, sliced
- 1 1/2 cups whole milk
- 2-3 tablespoons honey or sugar, to taste
- to taste Pinch of ground black pepper (optional)
Instructions
- In a saucepan, combine the water, cardamom, cinnamon stick, cloves, and ginger; bring to a boil.
- Reduce heat and simmer for 5 minutes to infuse the spices.
- Add the tea bags or loose tea and simmer for 2 more minutes, then turn off the heat and let steep for 3 minutes.
- Add the milk and honey, then return to low heat, stirring until warmed through and frothy but not boiling.
- Strain the chai through a fine-mesh sieve into two mugs.
- Add a pinch of black pepper on top if desired and serve hot.
