Apple Cider Punch

  1. Combine the apple cider, orange juice, cinnamon sticks, and cloves in a large pot or slow cooker.
  2. Warm over medium-low heat for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until fragrant and steaming (do not boil).
  3. Taste and stir in brown sugar if a sweeter punch is desired.
  4. Strain out the cloves and cinnamon sticks if you prefer a clear punch, or leave them in for a rustic presentation.
  5. To serve warm, ladle into mugs and float an orange slice and apple slice on top.
  6. To serve chilled, cool the mixture completely, pour over ice in a punch bowl, top with ginger ale or sparkling water, and float the fruit slices.
