Avocado Toast
Thick slices of crusty sourdough are toasted until golden, then piled with smashed ripe avocado brightened with lime and a hit of chili flake. Simple, fast, and endlessly customizable with a jammy egg or crumbled feta on top.

Ingredients
- 2 slices thick sourdough or whole-grain bread
- 1 large ripe avocado
- 1 tablespoon fresh lime juice
- 1/2 small garlic clove, grated
- 1/4 teaspoon fine sea salt, plus more to taste
- 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
- 1 tablespoon extra-virgin olive oil, plus more for drizzling
- 2 large eggs (optional, for topping)
- 2 tablespoons crumbled feta or radish slices
- to taste Microgreens or fresh cilantro, for garnish
- to taste Flaky sea salt, for finishing
Instructions
- Toast the sourdough slices in a toaster or dry skillet until deeply golden and crisp on the edges.
- Halve the avocado, remove the pit, and scoop the flesh into a bowl.
- Add the lime juice, grated garlic, and fine sea salt, then mash with a fork, leaving some texture rather than a smooth puree.
- If topping with egg, fry or poach the eggs to your preference while the toast is still warm.
- Spread the mashed avocado generously over each slice of toast, all the way to the edges.
- Drizzle with olive oil and scatter red pepper flakes over the top.
- Top with the egg, feta, or radish slices, then finish with microgreens and a pinch of flaky sea salt.
- Serve immediately while the toast is still crisp.
