Ingredients
- 1 cup unsalted butter
- 8 oz semisweet chocolate, chopped
- 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
- 4 large eggs
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1 cup chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a 9x13-inch baking pan with parchment paper, leaving overhang for easy removal.
- Melt butter and chopped chocolate together in a saucepan over low heat, stirring until smooth; let cool slightly.
- Whisk in granulated sugar and brown sugar until glossy.
- Whisk in eggs one at a time, then vanilla, until the batter thickens and lightens slightly.
- Sift flour, cocoa powder, salt, and baking powder over the batter and fold in gently until just combined.
- Fold in chocolate chips, then pour batter into the prepared pan and spread evenly.
- Bake 28-32 minutes, until the top is set and a toothpick comes out with a few moist crumbs, not wet batter.
- Cool completely in the pan before lifting out and cutting into squares.
