Banana Bread

Ingredients
- 3 very ripe bananas, mashed (about 1 1/2 cups)
- 1/3 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 large egg, beaten
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/4 cup sour cream
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup chopped walnuts, optional
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x5-inch loaf pan.
- In a large bowl, mash the bananas well, then stir in melted butter.
- Mix in sugar, beaten egg, vanilla, and sour cream until combined.
- Sprinkle baking soda, salt, and cinnamon over the mixture and stir in.
- Fold in the flour just until no dry streaks remain; do not overmix. Fold in walnuts if using.
- Pour batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top.
- Bake 55-65 minutes, until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean or with a few moist crumbs.
- Cool in the pan 10 minutes, then turn out onto a wire rack to cool completely before slicing.
