Ingredients
- 2 racks baby back pork ribs (about 4-5 lbs total), membrane removed
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon paprika
- 1 tablespoon kosher salt
- 2 teaspoons garlic powder
- 2 teaspoons onion powder
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon chili powder
- 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 1 1/2 cups BBQ sauce
- 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar, for spritzing (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 275°F. Line two large baking sheets with foil.
- Pat the ribs dry and peel off the thin membrane from the back of each rack.
- Mix brown sugar, paprika, salt, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, chili powder, and cayenne in a bowl to make the dry rub.
- Rub the spice mix generously over both sides of the ribs, pressing it into the meat.
- Place ribs bone-side down on the baking sheets, wrap tightly in foil, and bake for 2.5 to 3 hours, until the meat pulls back from the bone and is fork-tender.
- Unwrap the ribs, brush generously with BBQ sauce, and switch the oven to broil (or move to a hot grill).
- Broil for 3-5 minutes, watching closely, until the sauce is bubbling and caramelized at the edges.
- Rest 5-10 minutes, then slice between the bones and serve with extra BBQ sauce on the side.
